Why do I See Code Instead of a Web Page?
If you click the RSS link and you do not have an RSS reader installed on your computer (see below) you will see XML (or eXtensible Markup Language) code in your browser. This is to be expected, since you do not view RSS content through a browser. You view feeds through an RSS reader (also called an RSS aggregator).
If you do see XML, you will need to sign up for an RSS reader.
What is an RSS Feed?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. This is an convenient way to get content from your favorite blogs and programs. An RSS feed contains headlines, summaries and links to full news stories and is automatically updated, so you always see the latest updates to your favorite sites. You will need an RSS reader to subscribe to an RSS feed.
Where Do I Get an RSS Reader?
There are a wide variety of free RSS readers available on the Internet. Below are examples of RSS readers:
You can also search Yahoo and Google for a comprehensive lists of RSS readers.
How Do I Use These Feeds?
After you have chosen an RSS reader, you will need to copy and paste the URL of the feed into the appropriate place. Each reader is different, but it will say something like "Add new feed."
The RSS feed will start to display and regularly update the headlines for you so you can choose what you want to read or listen to.
