Paul McCartney – Maybe I’m Amazed
What an incredible performance by Paul McCartney at the Barclays Center on June 8th.
At the age of 70, (today he turns 71 – Happy Birthday, TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY) Sir Paul played 38 songs ranging from Beatles Classics to memorable songs by Wings.
Paul and his very tight band played non-stop the entire evening including two encores. The most touching moment was his tribute to John, Linda and George.
He played with the energy of a 19-year-old, and his banter was a crowd pleaser. You could just feel how comfortable Sir Paul is in his shoes these days. He played a two tunes from the Fab Four that have never been played before in New York – All Together Now (which the crowd loved) and For the Benefit of Mr. Kite (off of Sergeant Peppers, of course).
My personal favorite of the night was: I’ve Just Seen A Face. It was a joyous evening bringing back a swell of memories, both happy and sad. Thank You, Paul.
