Ribbon Cutting Celebration for the Newly Re-Built Theresa’s Fun Place
On Friday, April 27, 2018, The Russo Family, The Kelly Family, The Russo Law Group Staff, the students and staff at CP Nassau, and friends joined for a celebration of the newly renovated playground, Theresa’s Fun Place and Ava’s Adventureland at CP Nassau. We met with students and learned about their program MOVE – Mobility Opportunities Via Education. This program helps improve the overall quality of an individual’s life and allows them the possibility of improved involvement at home, school, work and their communities.
Theresa’s Fun Place is a playground and park at the Children’s Learning Center on the campus of CP Nassau in Roosevelt, NY. In 2004, the Theresa Foundation provided major funding for the renovation and revitalization of the playground, which was then named Theresa’s Fun Place in memory Vincent J. Russo’s daughter, Theresa.
Over 250 students at the Children’s Learning Center enjoy this fully adapted playground year-round. Since its last renovation over 10 years ago, it was time again for a revitalization. In the Fall of 2017, major fundraising went into effect to collect over $500,000. Over the past 2 years, the Theresa Foundation has given over $150,000 toward this project.
More information and photos of the Celebration at CP Nassau can be found here.

Through tireless work, generosity, and support we had a dream become a reality within the last year. Our brand new, beautiful playground was built thanks to the Theresa Foundation, Russo Family and the Kelly family. Our children have enjoyed this playgorund since the day it was opened. Take a look and watch them go!
