We are proud to announce our accreditation by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work.

On Thursday, December 3rd, 2015, we hosted our first continuing education course for social workers at the Bristal in Massapequa. Partners Vincent J. Russo and Frank L. Buquicchio presented a three-hour course to a packed room of social workers.

Topics covered during this course included:

• Decision Making,
• Government Benefits, and
• Medicaid Planning for Eligibility.  

This comprehensive program gave social workers a better understanding of the planning tools used to prepare for the future and what happens when someone does not have the proper planning in place; assistance programs and how they aid individuals; and how to pay for long term care and the types of trusts used to protect an individual’s assets and income.

We received great feedback from this event, with one attendee even saying it was the best CEU course she has attended thus far!

We look forward to continue to provide continuing education credits to social workers and increasing awareness in the community about important planning tools and the repercussions that come along with failure to plan in advance.
