Christine Fung is an Associate with the firm of Russo Law Group, P.C. of Garden City, Lido Beach, and Islandia, New York. Her areas of practice include Guardianship, Elder Law, and Estate Planning. Christine is admitted to the New York State Bar and is a member of the New York State Bar Association. Christine is available to assist Mandarin speaking clients.

Christine is eligible for court appointments in Nassau County, Suffolk County, Queens, and Brooklyn as a Court Evaluator and Guardian Ad Litem pursuant to Part 36 of the Rules of the Chief Judge of the New York State Unified Court System.

Before joining the firm, she had previous elder law experience both in the private and public sectors. “What I notice in both the public and private sector is while everyone is living for longer than decades ago, it is not always necessarily for the better. There is a need for elder law attorneys to help the aging plan their better future.”

Christine received her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Boston University. She earned her law degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and received her Certificate of Advanced Study of Health Law. While in law school, she was a member of the Moot Court Board and participated in the school’s law clinic. “I believe it was not only a valuable experience in enrolling in the health and elder law clinic, but it was also very rewarding to be able to work on cases to yield positive and beneficial outcomes for clients.”

Born and raised in Queens, New York, and a first-generation Chinese American, her desire to help people resolve problems was developed at a young age. Her mother, a solely Mandarin-speaking immigrant at the time, relied on young Christine to assist in interpretation whenever there was a need to speak or write in English. From helping her mother in the naturalization process for US citizenship to writing a letter to the NYS Attorney General’s office regarding personal consumer fraud, she was her mother’s advocate even though she was just a child. As a result, she was often asked to assist other family members and friends in similar situations where they were unable to advocate effectively.

In her free time, she and her husband enjoy doing fun activities with her children and reliving childhood through their eyes.
